Ava Holding is led by Abdulvahit Şimşek, one of the leaders in the marine supply and service sector for over 20 years in Turkey. Mr. Şimşek comes from a tradition of ship supply services as part of the activities of the Şimşekler companies located in Izmir, a trusted name which have been active in ship chandlery and ship scrapping for over 30 years in Turkey and globally.
Since the 1980's, Abdulvahit Şimşek has organized and led the foundation of numerous companies in the supply and logistics sector including Anele A.Ş., Albatros Kumanyacılık Ltd. Şti, Asist Gıda, A-Team Gemi Tamir Bakımı, AVS Denizciliği, GKS Denizcilik Hizmetleri, VHT Lojistik, Sirene Denizcilik A.Ş., Vatan Konserve A.Ş and Hayat İnşaat. He is a noted leader in the sector having served as the Assistant Director of the Ship Supply Committee of the Turkish Shipping Chamber of Commerce from 1999-2005. He has also taught at in the Shipping Trade School of the İzmir Dokuz Eylül Üniversity in Izmir teaching a class in Supply Chain Management in the Shipping Sector.
Şimşek has served in national and international shipping supply associations including ISSA, The International Ship Suppliers Association and TURSSA, The Turkish Ship Suppliers Association.
